Period 1 Warming-up and Listening

6. Teaching procedures and ways: Step 1 Greetings

Greet to the whole class in English. At the beginning of the first class, we can get the students to talk about their summer holidays and their relationship with their friends in their summer holidays.

Step 2 Lead-in

Before the lesson, the teacher can arouse the students’ interests by showing a video of A Forever Friend.

Step 3 Warming-up

Are you good to your friends? Do the survey at P1. Add up your score and see how many points you get. Grade I 4-7 points

You are always thinking about yourself. You should care more about your friends. If you continue to be self-concerned and don’t consider others’ feelings, you won’t make more friends and keep friendship for long. Grade II 8-12 points

You take things smoothly. You seldom hurt your friends with your benefit considered. You are a good friend, but You’d better try to strike a balance between your friend's needs and your own responsibilities. Grade III 13-18 points

? Born on June 12,1929, Anne Frank was a German-Jewish teenager who was forced to go into hiding during

the Holocaust(大屠杀).

? This diary was written during the time when Anne and her family moved to escape from being killed by

Nazis. She died just before her 16th birthday and less than a month before the surviving Jews were liberated. ? On August 4, 1944, they were arrested and sent to the concentration camp.

? Today Anne`s diary has been translated into 67 languages and is one of the most widely read books in the

world.
