1. Grasping the main idea (to ensure the survival of human

civilization, measures must be taken to help the public understand science) and structure of the text (introducing a topic, developing the topic with supporting details, supplying a conclusion); 2. Appreciating the style differences between narrative writing and

expository writing;

3. Grasping the key language points and grammatical structures in the

text;

4. Conducting a series of reading, listening, speaking and writing
