The Optimax? Series Tubing Retrievable Surface Controlled Subsurface Safety Valve (TRSCSSV) is Weatherford’s entry into the Safety Valve market. Utilising the latest technology and design philosophy, this product is designed to maximise simplicity and reliability of operation. The Optimax? Series Model W(E)-5 Tubing Retrievable Safety Valve is a Rod Piston, Flapper Type Safety Valve, with a 5,000 psi Working Pressure rating, 1,000ft and 2,000 ft Setting Depth configurations and is available with an optional Self Equalising Flapper mechanism. Features: ? API Q1 and API 14A Quality programmes ensure design and manufacturing integrity ? Number of Pressure Seals / potential leak paths minimized ? The Optimax? Series Safety Valve is designed to operate in fluid and gas environments in both production or injection applications. An integral part of the completion string, it is controlled via a hydraulic control line. Application of control line pressure maintains the Safety Valve in the open position, but when pressure is bled off the safety valve closes. In the event of uncontrolled flow, this ‘failsafe’ closure on command protects property, personnel & the environment. In the event of malfunction, deployment of Lockout and Control Line Communication Tools adapt the valve to accept a Wireline
